“Ugly” Senate budget heads to House

Prepare for some fireworks.  The Senate worked overtime last night to pass an “ugly” budget (their words, not mine).  It looks like it took some serious cajoling and tracking people down to vote, all so they could get their budget done before one Senator goes on vacation.  Nice.

The big issue it appears is that the legislature still believes that the budget gap is only $3 billion, while the Governor believes it is up to $4 billion.  I am glad that there is more passion about punishing teachers for caring about their classroom size than there is about figuring out exactly how big of a hole we are in.

Meanwhile, the budget is headed to the House today for their consideration.
